I was going to start this post with just my average 'Happy Monday!' , but then i had to rephrase it...... this post will now begin with the happiest Monday of the year! ( I know its only February)
Today is such a Happy Monday for so many reasons:
I feel like I am finally taking bigger steps towards my goals
I feel satisfied for the first time in a long, long time
and lastly, I reached 100 GFC followers and of course 300 bloglovin followers!!!!
It feels like only last week I was thanking you all for 20 followers and only yesterday when I was rejoicing for 60. do you know how exciting and fulfilling it is to see something that you created and have put so much of your time and care into , continuously grow everyday? I only have you guys to thank for that! it is pretty difficult to believe that people actually read my blog and so many of you take your precious time to write some of the most valued comments I have ever received. I guess all I can really say is ... thank you! I know as much as I say it , it will never be really be enough.
This little blogging victory has lead me on to one of my favourite posts - yes , it is the 50 ways to change your life series! I feel like I haven't done one of these for ages. I really just wanted to cover the topic of comparing yourself to others.
We often compare ourselves to others: their achievements, their looks, their personalities , their popularity. Why do we do it? is it a dissatisfaction in ourselves or is it just an innate flaw? There are just too many ways in which we can compare ourselves to others, to be honest once we begin , it is pretty difficult to stop. In my opinion, although I am the most guilty of this, comparisons are just unfair and a waste of time. It causes you to focus on others rather than yourself instead of pursuing greater things in your life.
Obviously, it wouldn't be a 50 ways post if there were no quotes, so I gathered as many quotes as I could on this topic. I hope you love tem as much as I do!
Thank you all once again for allowing my blog to reach the stage it is now! Let me know in the comments below what you think about comparing yourself to others.
Have the most wonderful week!
I love that quote by Roosevelt! Well done on 300 followers! You are my literal goals haha..

DeleteComparison really is the thief if joy. I suffered with this issue majorly last year. I would scroll through my social media, wondering why everyone's lives were looking amazing without realising these were their highlight moments which was why they were posting. I would look at girls at school and a lot of the time wonder why I couldn't live their life. I would forget anything good about myself and simply envy every single thing I didn't have, and every person I wasn't.
ReplyDeleteBut now I love myself. And that isn't a bad or self centred thing at all.

The Life of Little Me
M, this is exactly me word for word, I am glad someone else has experienced the same things as me. it is not selfish at all you deserve to love yourself :) thanks for reading xx
DeleteCongratulations on your achievement, may you have many more to come. :) Thank you for sharing these quotes, I especially love the last one by Maya Angelou. We shouldn't compare our start line to someone else's finish line, because everyone has different starting points in the beginning. :) Have a lovely day. :)
