As most of you know, I have been blogging since late November. I started blogging as a personal challenge, not expecting much from it. What I did end up with was hugely surprising. who knew there was a whole new community out there, just waiting for me to discover? It has to be said, I am just LOVING blogging. I began blogging as something to do, It is fair to say that not only is blogging a part of my life now but I can also say that it is one of my hobbies. Blogging can be challenging and time consuming at times but at most, it is rewarding! It is fair to say I have learnt a lot about myself by doing it as well as a couple of life lessons.
You guys all know how I like to look back and how I am always going on and on about 'personal reflection' , I guess this is another one of those posts that is doing just that. Sometimes I just like to look back at my old posts and even my old banners just to see how my blog is growing each and every day.
Today, I wanted to pull together all the things that blogging has taught me and that I feel that I have benefitted from. I really want to show how something so small can have such a large impact. I really want to hear from my fellow bloggers on this one: what has blogging taught you? I believe that in some way all of our blogs have effected us, I would love to hear what you have to say about this!
1. Blogging has taught me to be confident in my writing
I feel like I can write a post freely, not wondering how it might come across to others. No only that, but I feel as if constant practice in my writing has made me a more confident speaker in some ways
2. Blogging has made me practice determination and patience
I have put endless hours into this blog. I hope that one day this will pay off!
3. Blogging has made me change from the 'what if?' kind of girl to the 'just do'
I remember when I first started blogging and I was just going to delete it because I didn't know what to blog about. I had ideas but I didn't tink they were good enough. Blogging has taught me not to be so hesitant!
4. Blogging has been my platform to new opportunities
I hope that one day my blog will lead to new things, although I am just starting out, I know that I don't just want to stop here!
5. Blogging has taught me that I can be opinionated
It is ok to share my opinion, I can be confident in my thoughts just doing what I love
6. Blogging has given me control over something
For once , I feel like I am in charge of something (in a non-dictating kind of way) as I have created a space nobody can interfere with because to be honest nobody knows about it!
7. Blogging has allowed me to dream big
I feel like I have a vision and a plan of where I want this blog to go and it may not seem possible at the moment but it is ok to dream big! I feel inspired by the work of other bloggers and I see them as a goal
8. Blogging has made me take responsibility
If I don't write my posts then nobody else will! I am responsible for getting to know my readers and for making sure my message is delivered in the right way.
9. Blogging has allowed me to contribute to others
I feel like I have been able to give back through my blog. I really appreciate all of you that read my blog and take the time to comment. Some of the things you guys say are so overwhelming!
And that's it for now! There is definitely a lot more that blogging has to teach me and so much more I will learn about blogging. I am so grateful that so many of you are supporting me as I try to make this blog as best as it possible can be.
Please tell me your thoughts in the comments below, I respond to each and everyone of them.
Have a beautiful weekend!

I couldn't agree more! I am just love doing it !
DeleteIt's such an interesting post! I can read myself in some lines... and I can inspire myself in others! Thank you for inspiring me today, even if it wasn't your goal with your post. After reading you, I feel I have to believe more in the word "dream", without the anxiety of actually it has to happen... therefore I'm not able to dream anymore... Just dream, breathe and dream! Ok! ;) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow , I love this comment:) I am so glad you liked it, please continuing dreaming, whatever goal you may have will seem more accomplishable this way:) Thanks so much and have a wonderful day!
DeleteIt's funny how before we start blogging we don't think it'll be a big deal at all. We think it'll just be something we happen to have to write stuff when we want. But after self reflecting like this, we see how much we've changed and learned. I reckon knowing that you can be opinionated, you can write what you want and reflecting on everything in life through your writing really improves you and your confidence as a person, and that's truly a great thing.

I am glad you were able to relate to this post :) thanks so much
DeleteI agree with how blogging has impacted bloggers themselves, and I especially like numbers 1, 2 and 7. We'll definitely be more assured of what we're writing after much practice on writing posts, and it's also good to realise that a lot of time is required for a quality post, and so patience is important as well. Great that blogging has helped you in personal development. :)
ReplyDeletethanks for reading and commenting, love your blog :)
DeleteObsessed with your blog!!! Seriously I love it, and it shows how much effort you put in xx

Oh Jessica, this comment melts my heart! thank you so so much!!!!!
DeleteSure thing!
ReplyDeleteThis was probably about the second or third post I read in your blog, right after the 'stop comparing yourself to others' one. As someone who has just been blogging for about two months, point #6 really resonated with me. For me too, my blog is this place which is mine. I choose what to write and when to write, and probably say or do things which I may not in real life for fear of being judged by others. I think everytime I write a post, I come a little bit closer to being comfortable with who I am, and with the prospect of telling more people about it. I am not a supremely confident person, but I think blogging has and will help me in building it.
ReplyDeleteApologies for the reaaaallyy long comment, but I just wanted to let you know I appreciated your post a lot :) Love your blog, subbed immediately!
