14 THINGS I LEARNT IN 2014: REMEMBERING 2014

Hello again everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the weekend! For those of you first time readers (Welcome) you may not be familiar with the post I made back in November about me looking back to remember 2014. It involved me sharing with you all one of my favourite memories of the year. Today, I am back continuing with that.

2014 for me, was vital for developing and defining self identity. I was definitely more about forgetting about how I come across on the outside and really establishing who I was on the inside. I guess you could say it has been a long and at times challenging journey. For me, it really meant that I had to begin to put myself out there, fighting that feeling that  is always holding me back. There is still so much I want to learn and improve about myself , but for now I am pretty proud of the progress I have made so far.

I wanted to share with you all some of the things I learnt this year, I thought not only could it be a personal reflection but it could encourage you all to look back at what you have accomplished or look for to what you would like to. Please feel free to share in the comments what you have learnt this year, what has really made 2014 special to you and maybe even what you would like to do better next year. I always love hearing what you guys have to say!

1.Don't think just do
I often get held back by  thoughts such as 'what if' I have come to realise that it if I continue to live this way life is going to get really boring.

2.Stop caring what others think
It is about time that I started doing things for myself despite what others think o say about me

3.Meeting new people is not that hard
I used to have a huge problem talking to new people. It is so difficult trying to get people to know the real you and actually find you an interesting person when you only have about 30 seconds to make an impression. This one I am still working on. We all just need to remember we are real people and we all deserve to be heard and valued

4.Stop trying to compete with others
I am always trying to be the best I can be and if I see someone doing better I feel like there must be something I can also improve on. It is important to remember that we all work at our own pace and we all have our own individual goals

5.Don't allow lack of confidence to hold you back
Again something I have been trying to work on. Everybody loves a confident person. I don't mean attention seeking or big-headed, I mean someone that knows there self worth and wants others to see that in themselves too

6.Stop wasting days complaining
More often than not I have spent days feeling miserable about things that can be easily fixed if I was to get up and do something about it. im glad I have decided to make this change

7.Education is not the be all and end all
I have to admit. I love learning and I put everything in me into it. But at some point I have to realise that education is not where it all ends, there is definitely more to life than that

8.Start  trying new things and challenges
why hold back when you can try new things? The world is full of opportunities and we must be ready to take them

9.Leave your comfort zone
This is so important. Doing the same thing everyday gets boring. Change is the future.

10.I you want something work for it
For example this blog. I have wanted to make this blog for about 6 months. I have finally brushed aside my fears and have realised that if I wanted something doing, I had to do it myself

11.You deserve to be heard too!
Don't let people try to over shadow you. You have a voice to , a personality and a mind. What you have to say is also important.

12.The importance of a real friendship
So many fake friends. I no longer have the time to fit in people who claim to be your friend only to change their mind when it seems convenient. You ARE better than that

13.You do need help... sometimes
We can't,  as much as we try, do it ourselves al the time. We need some people to assist us so don't be afraid or ashamed to ask

14.Life is too short
life is way to short to not try new things or to hold back. we must go out there treating each day like a new adventure!

I you managed to read this whole post then, wow I really appreciate it! don't forget to comment follow or share this post! ( I follow back)

I've got so many 'What if" I can't even count them on my fingers :O and that confidence one is also nice..couple of years ago it used to be so hard for me to talk to new people..I was so shy...but I discovered once you get over that weird shy thing all it takes is a simply hi most of the times..

  10. This was such a lovely post! 2014 has definitely been a turning point for me also. Confidence and having a bit of self-worth was more prominent in my personality this year, as well as being more spontaneous instead of scrutinizing everything before I did it! xx

  11. This whole post is so relatable and are definitely some lessons I've learnt throughout 2014 as well. Being your own person, being confident, holding your own, stopping comparing and meeting new people are definitely on my 2014 mantra list. I absolutely love this blog so I think you have a new follower xx
