2016 to me was a year of questions. I questioned my talents, I questioned my sanity and most of all I questioned my existence.

A REFLECTION ON MYSELF

I haven't written anything for ages. Probably in months. I consider this blog post a sort of therapy for myself.

18 PROMISES TO MYSELF

picture from change.org , edited using pic monkey
Hello!
As promised, im finally pullig myself together to write something for you all today. Most of you probably do not know that I recently turned 18. I sarted this blog when I was 16 and back then, I was severely lacking in confidence and needed an outlet for my anger, frustrations and an opportunitiy to be heard.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE...

Yes, I know, I've basically not written anything on my blog all year. Yes, i'm terrible and I'm reallllly sorry for that.
I've just completed my final year of school and exams have consumed my life for the past 6 months. But now I'm finally free! Its been so long that I'm almost certain that nobody is reading this. But if you are... I salute you. Hopefully over the next few days I'll be able to revamp my blog as well as get a few new posts out there. I have a couple of exciting events lined up and I can't wait to show you all! Thanks for being so patient with me and look out for some exciting things

Love you all

WELCOME TO 2016 - A MESSAGE FROM WSW

Hello again!
Its been a very , VERY long time since I've even visited my blog. I've just been taking sometime to myself to change some things in my life that I felt weren't quite right. Basically, I've been focussing on me and preparing for the massive changes I want to bring to 2016.

For now, I can't promise that I will be consistently weekly blogging, however, as always I will be back to my blog to share my thoughts, feelings and continuing to allow this place to be my open diary. Having said that, one of my new years resolutions is to completely take my blog to the next level so please don't think I am neglecting my blog for other priorities as I really do enjoy creating this site.

I have just returned back to school for the final 6 moths before I am off to university and finishing with high school for ever! I'm sure you can imagine this is an exciting, scary and fulfilling time of my life and I really want to share this upcoming year with you all.

I hope you are all having a fantastic, happy new year and may you accomplish all you have set out to do this year. Share your goals , aspirations and ambitions in the comments!

Much love,

WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL?

Maybe about 5 years ago, people's comments, ideas and beliefs of who I was would have entirely shaped me. Imagine this : 5 years ago , if someone told me I was 'fat' I would spend hours running to try and instantly shake of the weight some how , I would spend hours locked in rooms checking my weight on the scales to see if I had lost any of my disgusting fat. sometimes , just maybe I would loose some weight,, but guesss what? I was still fat anyway.

NOVEMBER GOALS

                                               image from:http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com

Happy new month readers!

Lately I have been feeling like I have been seriously lacking ambition. Before , I used to set myself blogging goals, life ambitions and just in general dream big. I feel like reality and fear have played  big part in me no longer thinking like a life boss, with everything under control. For those of you have been reading since the start of my blogging journey, will know I never like to leave a problem unfixed.

Life goals are soooo important, something I plan to do by the end of this year is to create a vision boar on my bedroom door , so that every time I walk in my room , I can see my future. I also , definitely want to create a plan to completely reinvent me. Ok , well not completely, but just enough for me to form a new mind-set, a way of thinking and a confident way of presenting myself. This is something that is really going to form the basis of my goals this month.

When she writes: glorious and maybe slightly unachievable goals for November
1. Give your blog a makeover! Show it the same love and attention you would want for yourself!

2. Gain 20 or more followers to join in the fun!

3. Make a lifelong friend

4. Get focussed a school and place your education first again

5. figure out what you want to be in life

6. Love life a whole lot more

I would love for you to share your goals too!

OCTOBER THOUGHTS

                                                  picture from:dreamatico.com

There's something about these autumn months that gets me so excited. I feel like its around about October that something inside me clicks and just says : 'right, you need to make some changes' and usually, I follow this feeling.

This past week, as the school term continues to drag and university applications are fast approaching, pressure and worry has really begun to set in. I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets this way sometimes. Life just has a little way of preparing you for inevitable dramas that are often just around the corner. I had a moment to myself recently when I just started to think about my entire teen years and all the highs and the lows and how they have all made a huge contribution to many of the things I am and the things I do today. When you have a little time to yourself , think about all the progress you've made over the pat few years and you may actually surprise yourself.

A couple of things stood out to me as I was having my little reflection and I felt like I had to share them with you.

1. Never try to make yourself the image of someone else. Never, never, never.

2. Go back and try new things you didn't have time for in the past

3. Fireworks are definitely a good idea

4. Don't let other peoples definition of beautiful get mixed up with yours

5. Mistakes are chances to learn

What would you say you have learnt the most from your younger self, or what would you say to your younger self now? Let me know in the comments

Have a spectacular week

BIG CHANGES

I have been seriously missing blogging. It's coming up to my 1st year since I started this site and all the memories seem to be flooding back. Back then I felt so unaccomplished , blogging seemed to fill that hole.

Since then, it has been constant change for me,  have been rebuilding and developing myself, this whole entire process has become one giant project for me. My blog has always brought me so much joy, I used to write many posts a week, have so many exciting conversations with my readers, all this was a formation of my own little network. However, since then  I think I have lost touch with blogging. I'm not sure why, probably because when your going through changes , sometimes the whole experience can be overwhelming.

To be totally honest, I feel like over the past few months, the hole that blogging filled, has slowly started to widen up again and I find myself desperately trying to fill it. Blogging just brings something to the table that nothing else seems to offer :So that's why I'm returning.

That's right, When she writes is officially back open for business. I mean properly. Like the old stuff I miss writing so much, proper weekly posts and lots of lots of interacting with other bloggers. As my 1 year on blogger approaches , I really want to look back on my journey positively. I can't wait to share more memories with you all!

Love,

FAILURE CHALLENGES FAITH

(choosing this picture from http://veronicaroth.com it includes 2 of my favourite things)

It was finally time. In just a few minutes , less that five minutes away, my future would be determined by a few letters on a paper.  I had prayed and prayed for months, yearned for happiness in the form of neatly assembled perfect grades on a sheet of crisp white paper. I was sure, positively certain that despite fear, today I was not to be disappointed.  I had worked tirelessly for months , revising for exams, worried for weeks on end for results day to finally hit and it all boiled down to this very final moment.

The Introverted Freak

I am confident, I am loud , I am funny, the person everyone looks to when they're want to have a good time.

This is who I used to be, somewhere along the line, somewhere in between my seventeen years, that all changed. Somewhere along the line I became shy, scared, the introverted freak.

For at least a year , I have been trying to rebuild myself. I noticed that when I talked to new people, I just couldn't get my words out, I couldn't find anything interesting to say. People would look at me as if to say 'What are you?'

I began avoiding social situations around this time too, if anything came up , I would find an excuse, pretend I was busy, pretend I was ill. I would battle within myself whenever I had to speak to someone, only at the end of it to loose myself every time. I was scared to speak.

Slowly, I tried and I tried to morph into the person I wanted to be. I tried to be confident, trying to make people laugh the moment I met them. I tried creating eye contact, I stopped trying to let my eyes wander of into the distance whenever I spoked to someone. I worked hard to be the new  me.

And I thought I had succeeded.

Sometimes it just takes a small encounter to make a big difference.
I had been working with a company for a week, most of them where men in their 30s , being here, I had told myself, was to be the biggest test of my progress.
I started the week with a real willingness to change, I would smile , greet people when I saw them, I was so proud. But  again , this was short lived, my confidence seemed to suffer several knock backs as I just couldn't seem to get anything right. I had spent the week writing for them and every time I showed them something, it seemed to be wrong. I just didn't understand how the only thing I thought I could rely on , writing, one of my few skills, could fail me when I needed it most.

That was not the real wake up call.

The week was over and it was time to evaluate my progress. I was certain they were going to say things like  ' you struggled a little bit at the start but you really improved.' This would have been great compared to what actually happened.

Instead, I felt my world turn in a matter of seconds.
Shy, lacking confidence, uninterested, ME.

I was the introverted freak.

All week, I had been certain, the looks I had been getting were looks of encouragement and the endless cups of tea were signs of care. Now all I thought of was pity. I imagined how when I left at the end of the day they would gather and have conversations like ' isn't she strange , the poor thing must be scared out of her mind .'- I didn't want their pity.

Why was it that I had been trying so hard yet the world seemed to be against me?

Sometimes it just takes a small encounter to make a big difference.
After this, I returned home trying to hide my sadness and embarrassment from my family. I found myself in my room once again , eating and watching TV. I sought refuge in my favourite show, My Mad Fat Diary, The main character, Rae Earl, reminded me of myself sometimes. Those of you who have watched the show will know that Rae Earl messes up often but unlike me , somehow she manages to pull herself pull through.

Through an emotional final episode, something she said stuck with me:  "I've got to do this on my own."
The answer had been staring at me all along. I realised that the only person stopping my progression was me , I was the one holding me back  no one else.

So today I start. My journey begins today . I may never be loud or  funny and people may never look at me when they want to have a good time but I, for one , will be confident in who I am and that's all I want to be.

THE BEST AND THE WORST: HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIES

At aged 16 and now nearing the end of my first year of sixth form, it suddenly dawned on me that in just over a year I will be leaving high school never to see its face again. These, as adults often say, are meant to be the best days of your life, the times that you will never forget. Yet in just over a year it will all be over. For good. And you know what.... I have never been happier.

WHEN SHE WRITES RETURNS!

Hello All! I have missed you all very much! I feel like since I temporarily left the blogging world I have pretty much forgotten how to write, so please bear with me! Some of you may have noticed that my posts have been a lot less frequent on this blog and I have done a bit of a disappearing act on here. Fear not, I have returned! To be honest, I no longer had as much time to blog, I felt like my posts weren't really good enough and above all, I didn't really feel like blogging.

But that was then- this is now. I want to make some changes around here but those changes will be gradual. I can't promise you daily posts but I can promise you often. I want to blog about things that are truly and deeply important. I wan to hear what you all have to say! So, I ask you all a little favour: if you want to, please comment below a question/topic that you want my perspective on, I will do my best to give my honest viewpoint in a blog post.

Sorry for the barely there post, but I promise it is only up from here!

Thanks for reading!

5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE

original picture polyvore

Ahhh the comfort zone, it is a wonderful, wonderful place to be .... said me for the past 16 years of my life. I hated the idea of having to change my routine or having to do difficult tasks because it felt safer that way. But to be honest I eventually got tired of living this repetitive, unexciting lifestyle
